LED Lighting Upgrades
One of the easiest wins in a commercial building.
If your business or building still runs on fluorescent tubes, ballasts and older high-intensity fixtures, you’re paying for it every month in electricity, and every few weeks in replacement lamps and ballasts. The light is often worse too: flicker, hum, dead tubes and that tired blue-gray cast.
An LED upgrade can be as simple as replacing fixtures one-for-one, or as complete as a new layout with better controls. In garages and back-of-house areas, linear LED fixtures give bright, even light with almost no maintenance. In offices and retail, LED troffers and panels improve comfort and appearance. Newer construction projects are already required to meet tighter energy codes, and upgrades bring older buildings closer to that standard.
We plan retrofits to fit your budget and your schedule, often in phases, and we’ll give you an honest picture of what to expect in energy and maintenance savings for your space.
“Great people to work with. Very knowledgeable of what they do. Always meet my expectations when the job is done. Thank you for your work ethic. Highly recommend!”
Signs to watch for
Signs it’s time to retrofit.
- 01
Fluorescent tubes and ballasts
Ballasts fail, tubes burn out, and replacement parts get harder to find.
- 02
Flicker and hum
Failing ballasts create flicker and noise that bother staff and customers.
- 03
High-bay HID fixtures
Metal-halide fixtures in warehouses and garages take time to warm up and use a lot of energy.
- 04
Constant relamping
If someone is always on a ladder, LED’s long life pays off quickly.
- 05
Uneven light
Dead tubes and aging lamps leave dim patches across the space.
- 06
Rising energy costs
Lighting is often one of the largest electrical loads in commercial space.

Good to know
Good to know before an LED retrofit.
Start with an honest audit. Counting fixtures, lamp types and operating hours tells you where the biggest savings are. Areas lit ten or twelve hours a day, like sales floors, garages and hallways, usually pay back fastest, while rarely used storage rooms can wait.
Check for utility programs. Some utilities, including many municipal light plants in our area, have offered incentives for commercial lighting upgrades over the years. Programs change, so it’s worth asking your utility what’s currently available before the work starts. We can provide fixture details and documentation for any application you submit.
Plan the disruption. Retrofits can often be done section by section, early in the morning or after closing, so the business keeps running. We’ll build a schedule around your hours and keep work areas clean and safe for staff.
Don’t forget exit and emergency lighting. A retrofit is a good time to confirm that exit signs and emergency fixtures work and meet current requirements.
Why it matters
Lower costs, better light.
LED fixtures use significantly less energy than the fluorescent and HID lighting they replace, and they last many times longer, which cuts maintenance labor as well as utility bills.
The improvement in light quality is just as noticeable: instant-on, flicker-free, with better color, which makes workspaces more comfortable and retail spaces more appealing.
- Fluorescent & HID replacement
- Lower energy use
- Less maintenance
- Phased installs
