Commercial Lighting

Light that works as hard as your staff.

Commercial lighting has jobs to do. In a salon, it has to render color accurately so stylists and clients see the true result. In retail, it has to pull eyes to products and make the space feel open from the sidewalk. In a fitness studio, it has to be bright, even and free of glare. In an office, it has to be comfortable for eight hours.

We’ve lit a lot of these spaces: salons with black track heads and warm wall sconces, retail floors with exposed ceilings and pendant clusters, studios with LED panels and colored accent coves, boardrooms with recessed grids and drum pendants, and storefronts with channel-letter signs and soffit downlights. Each one started with how the space is used.

We install new lighting in fit-outs and replace dated or failing systems in existing spaces, with controls that make sense for the business: timers for signs, occupancy sensors in back rooms, and dimmable zones where mood matters.

“Great people to work with. Very knowledgeable of what they do. Always meet my expectations when the job is done. Thank you for your work ethic. Highly recommend!”

Constant relamping is labor you shouldn’t be paying for.

    Storefront looks closed

Poor exterior and sign lighting costs you evening foot traffic.

  • 06

    New layout, old lights

A rearranged space often needs lighting moved to match.

Good to know

Good to know about commercial lighting.

Color matters as much as brightness. Two fixtures with the same light output can look completely different depending on color temperature and color rendering. In salons, boutiques and galleries, high color-rendering LEDs make hair color, fabric and artwork look true. In offices and warehouses, a neutral white keeps spaces alert without feeling clinical.

Glare is the hidden problem. Bright fixtures in the wrong spot shine straight into customers’ and employees’ eyes, especially with glossy floors and screens. We aim track heads and choose optics so light lands on products, workstations and walls rather than on people.

Controls pay for themselves. Timers for signs and storefronts, occupancy sensors in back rooms and restrooms, and dimmable zones in dining and lounge areas reduce wasted energy and make spaces easier to manage. We set them up during installation and show your staff how they work, so nobody ends up taping over a sensor.

Finally, think about maintenance. Fixtures mounted high above displays or stairs should be long-life LEDs with drivers placed where they can be reached, so a failure doesn’t mean renting a lift.

Why it matters

Customers see the lighting first.

Lighting shapes the first impression of your business from the street and every impression after that. Good light makes products look better, spaces look cleaner, and work look more professional.

Modern LED systems also reduce energy and maintenance costs, which frees up budget for the rest of the business.
