Working in Cambridge

Your local electricians for Cambridge.

Cambridge packs a lot of history into a small city. Around Harvard Square and Mid-Cambridge you’ll find grand Victorians, many now divided into condos. North Cambridge, Cambridgeport and East Cambridge are full of two- and three-family houses. And new buildings keep going up around Kendall and Alewife.

We work with Cambridge homeowners, condo owners and small landlords. Our blog includes tips on choosing TV installation services in Cambridge because it’s one of the more common requests we get here.

“Great experience. Office was responsive in setting up appointment, price was reasonable, fan installation went flawlessly, installer was excellent. Would use again!”

Homes & buildings in Cambridge

Tight lots and old walls.

Cambridge homes sit close together on small lots, often with the panels tucked in a shared basement. Much of the housing predates World War II, and we regularly find knob and tube, ungrounded circuits and old fuse panels, sometimes in the same building as a fully renovated unit upstairs.

Cambridge residents have also embraced heat pumps and electric cooking. Moving off gas or oil in a multi-family building means planning capacity unit by unit, and sometimes coordinating a larger service for the whole building.

Before you start

Planning a project in Cambridge.

Cambridge projects often involve tight access: narrow stairs, shared basements and neighbors close by. We plan deliveries, shut-offs and noisy work with that in mind, and coordinate with condo associations when work touches common areas.

If you’re moving off gas or oil, start with the electrical assessment. In a multi-unit building, knowing whether each unit panel and the building service can carry heat pumps and electric cooking tells you whether to convert one unit at a time or plan the whole building together.

Cambridge FAQ

Electrical questions from Cambridge

Can you work in a shared basement with multiple panels?

Yes. We identify which panel and circuits belong to each unit and label everything clearly.

How do I choose a TV installer in Cambridge?

Look for someone who installs power behind the TV correctly, never by running the TV cord inside the wall. As electricians, that part is our specialty.

Will switching to heat pumps require a new service for my building?

Sometimes. It depends on existing capacity and how many units are converting. We’ll calculate it and explain the options.

Can you coordinate with my Cambridge condo association?

Yes. We provide insurance documentation and schedule common-area work with the association or property manager.
